Part 2 of the Intro to my e-course, “9 Self-Love Keys to Change Your Life.” (Click here to read Part 1.) I share it here to give you a taste of the course, and to respond to the question: “Can Self-Love Be Taught?”
Of course, LOVE exists at the heart of you; it always has and it always will. What is being taught in the course is how to access and nurture the love that is at the heart of the self. In other words, how to develop it and make it the centerpiece of your joy and abundance.
So to the question “Can Self-Love Be Taught?” the answer is a resounding “YES”! Read on…
How to Use the Course on Self-Love
This Course is About YOU! YOU make the material come alive. Engage with it. Keep a journal as you go through the course, and fill it up with YOU: your thoughts, feelings, insights and intuitions. Include ALL parts of you…
…The parts you know well, and the parts that are waiting to be noticed.
…The parts that feel good, and the parts that feel awkward.
…The parts you love, and the parts you are not sure you like at all.
Self-love encompasses ALL OF YOU. The course offers you the structure for you to feel safe, comfortable, and supported as you bring out more of your inner truth.
It’s simple, but it’s not always easy. It takes courage to walk this path.
In this course on self-love, we shine a light on some dark places. The beauty of it is that when we allow light into the dark corners, suddenly they are not dark anymore. We find that the ‘vulnerabilities’ that we’ve been hiding are part of our unique beauty; they give us authenticity, and that authenticity allows others to connect with us in compassion and love.
We drop the mask and we become REAL.
There is no “there” or “not there” when it comes to self-love. By taking this course, by reading these words, we place ourselves on the continuum of the path of self-love, learning to love the whole of ourselves. The course on self-love provides a supportive space as we take courageous steps forward in self-love.
Each of the 9 modules presents you with an Inspirational Quote, a Journaling Exercise and an Action Step.
How to Travel the Path of Self-Love
There is no such thing as ‘on time’ or ‘late’ when it comes to this course. The only ‘wrong’ way to use the course would be to make yourself ‘wrong’ through self-criticism or self-doubt. Invite the inner critic to wait outside – you have a job to do!
Honor yourself by moving at your own pace. It takes time and repetition to establish a new habit. The very first Journal Prompt – “I deserve…” – could be used for a year with powerful results.
The relationship between one exercise and the next may be direct, or it may be a looser, more ‘poetic’ connection. Trust the process. Discover your own connections. Through the Journal Prompts and Action Steps we are ‘circling’ self-love, approaching it from different angles.
Grant yourself the freedom to walk this course in your own way. Allow ideas to ‘rest’ and take root. Skip steps or do each step in order. Race through to the end, or dwell on a particular step along the way. Listen to what your soul is calling you to do.
I invite you to ‘be right’ about whatever you feel. It is natural to like some exercises more than others. Your responses are all that matter. Journal about them: they reveal more about the true and only subject of this course, which is YOU.
Use the course in the way that feels right. Only, do use it! Take time, but keep going, keep exploring. Keep at it, and you will see a beautiful shift in the flow and ease of your life.
Keepin’ It Real
No esoteric exercises here. No special training required. The course sparks simple awareness, using everyday language and common sense exercises.
There is no magic involved, yet simple efforts add up. A shift in perspective here and a new habit there, and the results are quite magical. Even one new insight, thoroughly integrated into your way of being, could change the whole of your life.
You are invited to approach the whole of the course, more than any specific exercise, with self-love.
This means remember self-love as you negotiate the inevitable bumps in the road that arise whenever we do any kind of work on ourselves.
It means embody self-love, to the best of your ability, as you walk the path of this course. Practice acceptance, forgiveness, and trust towards the self as you do the exercises.
When you practice self-love in one area, it will become easy to apply the same self-love in other areas of your life. Start here, with this course on self-love, where you have all the support and reminders you need to practice being self-loving.
Like a loving friend, this course will help you see yourself with eyes of kindness, to really see the good in YOU.
You are so beautiful, so worthy and so beloved.
I can see it. Can you see it, too?
