I had the pleasure of experiencing an Epigenetics healing session with Charan Surdhar about two weeks ago. It was one of the most unusual, mystifying and gratifying experiences I’ve ever had.
As many of my regular readers know, I had the privilege to study with a true mystic for many years, Shanta, of beloved memory. In her healings and spiritual guidance she seemed to intercede on her students’ behalf for our highest good. She worked on a level that was inaccessible to me at the time. Being her student was and is a highlight of a lifetime.
All this to say that I don’t expect – or find – others to work on that level. Yet Charan claimed to work on a cellular level. A former geneticist, she describes Epigenetics as working with the ‘DNA blueprint’ of our best selves. Then, she heals the ‘misalignments’ (my terminology) that can get in the way of executing our native blueprint for joy. These things keep us from living our best, most magnificent version of our selves. They may include traumatic experiences from our own lives, or from the lives of our ancestors.
How Does Epigenetics Work?
I’m familiar with several transformational processes for releasing past trauma. They offer a beautiful path of healing. Yet, always, the way past is through. Thus, these methodologies have their moments of pain while confronting the trauma from the past in order to get through to the other side.
Charan’s work was different. It was easy. I’ll describe it as best I can.
I came to her with a specific issue. I stated the issue. Then she would say something like “I see this affecting thus and such area of the body. I see it as a [one sentence description of the core issue]. It goes back [# of generations] , on the [mother or father’s] line.”
Two seconds later, she would say: “Now it’s cleared. It’s cleared forever for you, and for all the affected generations.”
That was it. It was as painless as watching an accountant add up a column of numbers.
This process was repeated for several different issues related to my primary complaint. Some went back as far as 13 generations.
It Sounds Incredible
It was incredible to me, too. Yet her statements describing my core issues were spot on. They were personal, private, and pinpoint accurate in terms of what I know about myself, and what I know about my ancestors’ struggles as well.
It was deeply moving. Since many of the traumas we worked with in this session went back multiple generations, these were feelings I had been born with. They were part of my experience like a background hum, hardly noticeable for their pervasiveness in my life. Yet once they were brought to light there was that instant recognition of “Hmm, yes, I really do experience that! That has indeed shaped my life.”
I was profoundly touched to have someone else acknowledge my inner landscape. And I felt ecstatic to be able to clear the traumas and be free of their limiting bonds.
Does Epigenetics Work?
I can only speak for myself: I felt the healing. I felt free of certain pressures that were with me my whole life.
Secondly, people around me responded to me in a different and more positive way. Lovely!
This third part is harder to describe: I felt echoes from my ancestors. I felt glimmers of the emotions that they experienced. But I felt it in a painless way, a kind of “aha, there she goes (great, great, great, great, grandma – give or take a few ‘greats’), releasing the pain.”
Trauma happens when we stop feeling. An experience is too overwhelming and we shut down and bury the emotion, or freeze it. It becomes locked in our cellular memory. These echoes I was hearing from my ancestors were the trauma, released. Not an “ahhh” of agony, but an “ahhh” of letting go.
I did this interview with Charan before I experienced the session with her. As brilliant and articulate as Charan is, nothing compares to experiencing Epigenetics for yourself.
I would do a session with Charan again in a heartbeat, and I hope to do so, soon. I treasure the experience.
Note: no services or other compensation were provided in exchange for the interview or for this post. This is simply my way of sharing what’s good and healing with my viewers and readers.
